Curriculum Information

A. THE GRANTING OF CREDITS

Credits will be granted based on the Expectations and Achievement Levels provided in The Ontario Curriculum for each Grade Level in each specific Subject Area.

A credit is granted in recognition of the successful completion of a course that has been scheduled for a minimum of 110 hours. Credits are granted by a principal on behalf of the Minister of Education and Training for courses that have been developed or approved by the ministry.

 EXPECTATIONS (OVERALL AND SPECIFIC)

Students will be expected to develop and to demonstrate the knowledge and the skills required through assignments, activities and on tests on which their achievement is assessed.

ACHIEVEMENT LEVELS

Students will be evaluated in a variety of ways (including examinations and projects) and will be categorized under one of the four Achievement Levels (based on their performance) outlined in The Ontario Curriculum.

Both of the aforementioned tools will be used by the instructors and the Principal to assess student learning and to grant promotion and credits.
